SWIM-A-THON 2024

We are excited to announce that the annual SWIM-A-THON will be taking place on Saturday May 11, 2024.

In order to continue to grow our club and provide high-quality programming at a reasonable price, we need your help!

All proceeds raised go to the direct benefit of the entire VPSC membership!
Your support of the Swim-A-Thon will directly affect our ability to continue providing safe and affordable training for our members. Programming is designed to not only enable success at the local, provincial, and national levels, but it also allows ALL our swimmers at all levels to continue to improve and pursue their love of the sport.

The Swim-a-thon is a registered trademark of Swimming Canada, designed to help clubs raise money for their own not-for-profit organizations. The event has served as the primary fundraiser for VPSC for years and contributes to the club providing an enhanced level of support to ensure every swimmer maximizes their potential in the water.

EVENT INFORMATION

• The Swim-A-Thon Event will take place on Saturday, May 11th, 2024.
• Swimmers will be challenged to swim as far as possible in one hour or more (age dependent!)
• Swimmers are welcome to collect pledges tied to their total distance 
  • For example, encouraging donors to pledge $2 for every 100m completed.
• Swimmers unable to participate on the day of may be permitted to attempt the challenge during another practice time decided by their coach. 

TIMES & LOCATIONS FOR SWIMS:

**please be advised that there are two separate session times for the event**

• Mini Makos: 7:00AM to 10:00AM at Lord Byng Pool 
• Youth and Comp Dev: 2:00PM to 4:30PM at UBC
• Junior and Senior: 3:30PM to 6:00PM at UBC
   

FUNDRAISING INFORMATION: 

VPSC'S OVERALL FUNDRAISING GOAL: $50,000

GOALS (per swimmer):

• Mini Makos: $250
• Masters $250
• Youth & Comp Development: $300
• Juniors: $400
• Seniors: $500

Every swimmer that achieves their goal will receive a bag tag after May 31. More prizes for the top fundraisers and top fundraising group will be revealed soon!
